Important

Please be aware that your salt goes through a large logistical network on route to you. Occasionally, some bags may suffer minor tears or become scuffed during transit. The polythene bags are there to keep the salt clean and dry until you're ready to use it. Our bags contain a small overage in weight, so if a small amount (a few handfuls say) is spilt or becomes unusable, please be assured that you will still have the full weight ordered. Please protect any split bags and use them first.

Delivery

Deliveries are normally 1 to 5 working days. If you have a preferred delivery day/date please advise us of this if and when prompted during the ordering process and we will do everything we can to arrange this. You are fully responsible for supplying us with the correct delivery address, postcode and contact phone number. A signature will be required upon delivery. In the event of our supply agents being unable to deliver to your area, you will be refunded in full.

To some remote locations of the country, Northern Ireland and congestion charge areas there may be surcharge payments.  Please contact us for further details or proceed with your order and a member of staff will contact you to authorise the surcharge payment.

For our larger salt order deliveries,  the delivery pallet will be left for ease of delivery and storage and is yours to do with as you so wish.

Whilst our drivers will consider any requests of where to leave your order, we only guarantee that the delivery point will be to the front door or the nearest accessible point to your property i.e kerbside. You will be responsible for transferring the order to your storage area. We have found the drivers to be a helpful professional bunch, but please remember they do a hard job, often against tight deadlines.  The driver is not authorised to carry goods into your property.

Please check that your order is in full and in an acceptable condition before signing as once your order is signed for it is taken to be accepted.  We must be notified of any missing items or damaged goods within 24hrs of delivery.

We reserve the right to pass on any delivery costs assosiated with failed delivery attempts.

PALLET DELIVERIES (10 x 25kg bags and over. 20 x 10kg bags and over. Block Salt 21 packs and over)

Whilst every attempt will be made to get the pallet at least onto your property, we only guarantee that the delivery point will be to the kerb on the nearest accessible public road to your property. We've found the drivers to be a helpful professional bunch, but please remember they do a hard job, often against tight deadlines.

Full Pallets Forklift Requirements
Please note that the safe working load of a tail lift is one tonne. Full pallets of salt exceed this weight so can't be unloaded at the delivery point other than by a fork lift truck. Please only order full pallets (49/50 x 25kg Tablet or Granular or 138 / 144 x 8kg Block Salt) if you can off load with your own forklift, telehandler or tractor attached pallet forks with a minimum capacity of 1.3 tonnes at 1.5 metres at 600mm load centre. For safety reasons there are no exceptions - we can only send full pallets if you can unload by suitable mechanical means.

Important information about access.
Your salt will arrive on a wooden pallet. The driver will lower this to the ground using the hydraulic tail-lift fitted to the vehicle, then use a hand operated pallet truck to move the pallet off the tail-lift platform and will follow your directions about where you want it. However, every delivery is different and the major factor is access restriction. Whilst every attempt will be made to get the pallet at least onto your property, we only guarantee that the delivery point will be to the kerb on the nearest accessible public road to your property. If there is an access issue for an 18 tonne truck on the highway leading to your property, either with weigh, height or width, please let us know before you place your order.

Pallet Trucks
Once your pallet is off the lorry, the driver can manoeuvre it by hand to a certain extent, provided the surface is smooth and level. Any incline, step or even a small ridge will stop the pallet truck in it's tracks (they have small nylon wheels underneath). They certainly won't run on a gravel surface.

What we're saying here is that we'll do our best to get the salt as close as possible to where you want it. However, depending on access, this may not be possible so you need to be prepared to remove the bags of salt from the pallet and move them to where you store it yourself after the delivery has been made. The pallet, of course, is yours to keep or dispose of however you wish.
We can only accept your order for salt on pallets on this basis, we're grateful for your understanding and co-operation.

If we attempt to deliver the goods and it is not possible to carry out our delivery duties due to lack of / incorrect delivery information, the customer will be liable for any re-delivery charges which we will incur from the carrier. We will also not accept liability for non-delivery, caused by circumstances beyond our control. Re-delivery charges are per pallet.

It is important to keep your delivery appointment with the courier as orders that are unable to be delivered are subject to the couriers re-delivery charge of £49.00 + VAT per pallet.

The Supplier shall use its reasonable endeavours to meet any date agreed for delivery. In any event time of delivery shall not be of the essence and the Supplier shall not be liable for any losses, costs, damages or expenses incurred by the Buyer or any third party arising directly or indirectly out of any failure to meet any estimated delivery date.

Delivery of the Goods shall be made to the Buyer’s address specified in the order and the Buyer shall make all arrangements necessary to take delivery of the Goods whenever they are tendered for delivery.

Risk in the Goods shall pass to the Buyer upon delivery of the Goods, or where the Buyer fails to take delivery at the agreed time, at the time delivery was attempted.

Returns

Please make every effort to ensure the goods you order are suitable for your requirements. If you have any doubt in your choice, please do not hesitate to contact us for guidance. Orders cancelled prior to delivery may incur a restocking charge. In the unlikely event of goods being delivered damaged, please take the matter up with the driver before signing. If you change your mind and wish to return the goods you can. Under the United Kingdom's distance selling regulations, domestic customers have the right to cancel the contract for the purchase within a period of 7 days beginning the day after the day on which you received your delivery. You do not need to give us any reason for cancelling your contract. We require you to notify us by phone and in writing to sales@watersoftenersaltuk.co.uk if you wish to cancel your contract. Refunds are subsequent to goods being received and excepted in a good and re-saleable condition and returns will only be accepted if the goods are returned to the supplier from which they were delivered and any return costs are met by the buyer. We will not be held responsible for the method of postage used to return the goods or the payment of the transit back to us. We strongly recommend that you use a trackable service to return any items. We reserve the right to refuse a return if the item is not in a resalable condition. In some circumstances we may also charge a minimum of a 15% restocking charge (this fee can vary depending on the product). If for any reason we agree to collect goods from an agreed address, we cannot be held responsible for collection failures. In such an event, the customer must return the goods at their own cost regardless of the original reason for collection.  Should the goods have been specially ordered, then a charge of 50% will be deducted.  Specials may also have to be returned direct to us.

The Buyer may cancel any order for Goods for any reason up to the point of dispatch and any payments made by the Buyer shall be refunded in full within 28 days. The Buyer may cancel any Contract for Services at any time before seven working days has passed from the day after the Contract was made and any payments made by the Buyer shall be refunded in full within 28 days. If, however, the Supplier starts to perform its side of the Contract with the agreement of the Buyer before the Buyer exercises this right to cancel, the right to cancel is lost.

The Buyer shall inspect the Goods immediately upon receipt and shall notify the Supplier via email within 5 working days of delivery if the Goods are damaged or do not comply with any of the Contract. If the Buyer fails to do so the Buyer shall be deemed to have accepted the Goods.

Where a claim of defect or damage is made, the Goods shall be returned by the Buyer to the Supplier within 28 days of delivery. The Buyer shall be entitled to a replacement or a full refund (including delivery costs) plus any return postal charges if the Goods are in fact defective.

Goods must be returned by the Buyer at the Buyer’s expense within 28 days of cancellation in the original packaging and should be adequately insured during the return journey. The Buyer will receive a refund of all monies paid for the Goods (including delivery charges, if any) except for return postal charges. If the Buyer fails to return the Goods following cancellation, the Supplier shall be entitled to deduct the cost of recovering the Goods from the Buyer.

Goods to be returned must clearly show the order number obtained from the Supplier on the package.

Where returned Goods are found to be damaged due to the Buyer’s fault the Buyer will be liable for the cost of remedying such damage.
